After being approved by China's Ministry of Culture and General Administration of Press and Publication in June, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will finally launch in Chinese mainland on July 12th. As soon as the maintenance is done, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will go online officially. It has the shortest distance between WOW(CN) and the global version in recent two years, for WOW(CN) will be updated to the 4.1 version while the global version is 4.2.

Additionally, before the release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in mainland China, Frank Pearce, Executive VP of Product Development together with Tom Chilton, lead game designer at Blizzard paid a visit to China and disclosed that Blizzard had put the opening of Blizzard Mall in mainland China on the agenda. It is reported that the mall mainly sells in-game virtual items and game-related products. Most of virtual items are special mounts and pets, so they won't have any impact on the game balance.

Along with the start of Cataclysm in mainland China, the game's level cap will be raised to Level 85 and players can experience brand new races (Goblin and Worgen), storylines and epic instances.
